Mary, I think Scumbria's agenda is crystal clear (with apologies to Scumbria if I misrepresent his views). He thinks underdog AMD has notably superior products to Intel's (if you include their plans for future products and match them with his vision of Intel's future products.) Furthermore, he believes that AMD has performed remarkably well on both the engineering and production sides over the past year. Furthermore he believes that Intel's management is all of the following:
1) Criminal - (see his frequent references to FTC violations)
2) Stupid - (see his frequent posts on their braindead decisions)
3) Incompetent - (only 500 Mhz?)
4) Any other negatives or pejoratives I may have left out.

He posts 40 or 50 (I think I am low on this) times a day denigrating Intel on this thread and the AMD thread. He is an AMD zealot and I will confess to being an Intel zealot.

I am reminded of folks I knew who told me all day long in the 80s how foolish I was to be invested in Intel when Apple was gonna eat their cake and rule the world. Their arguments were logical, informed, well reasoned and dead wrong. Meanwhile I am sitting on a huge runup from a couple of IRA investments in the early 80s at an average multiple of 70 times what I paid.

Good investing,
Burt
