Voice over IP (VoIP) experts from Ascend Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:ASND), a
leader in wide area networking (WAN) and Intelligent Network (IN) solutions for
providers and users of the next-generation public network, will be speaking at
the pulver.com Spring '99 Voice on the Net (VON) Conference. The VON conference,
which represents the convergence of the Internet and Telephony Industries, will
be focusing on the business, technologies and issues facing the Voice on the Net
industry today.
Who: Dale Skran, Vice President Engineering, Enterprise Networking
Division
Mr. Skran is vice president of engineering for the
Enterprise Networking Division at Ascend Communications, Inc.,
and is responsible for all development related to Ascend's
MultiVoice Gateways and Gatekeepers, as well as Multiband and
Pipeline family of products and other multimedia access products.
Mr. Skran is also the SG16 WP2 Q13 rapporteur for the
International Telecommunications Union-Telecommunication
Standardization Sector (ITU-T) covering multimedia over packet
networks and is considered the "father of H.323," the standard
for voice and video communications over packet switched networks.
He also was the editor of H.225.0, version 1. Mr. Skran will
