He also said that they had 1000 yrs of reserves, or something to that effect. I doubt that J/L will wait that long for their payout, so the 2.5 cents per ounce may not be too meaningful.

Using Mike's earlier estimate of 200 MM tons at 1 oz/T, and the current estimate of 0.025$/oz, yields a payment to J/L of $5MM. With gold at $280/oz, this represents a revenue-equivalent of some 18,000 oz of gold. At 100 T/D (not an unreasonable target for the future), and 1 oz/T, this would be about 1/2 years production equivalent.

Not an unreasonable amount, but not insignificant either.
