I think we all get your point that selling more items at a cheaper price is not necessarily better than selling fewer items at a higher price. The bottom line revenue is what's important. This brings us back to tie ratio, If IOM does give Dell a damn good price on drives they are expecting to have their sales staff tickle the buyers with "would you like fries with that" line. Both IOM and Dell make money on the retail markup on disks. There are more options available to the consumer on where to buy media. I would be interested in seeing what price Dell is getting Zip 250 10 packs for v.s. CompUSA v.s buy.com. I bet they all pay pretty close to the same amount.
