VocalTec Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: VOCLF) today announced that the AT&T Global Clearinghouse is now supporting the VocalTec Ensemble Architecture(TM) multi-service platform. The AT&T Global Clearinghouse service provides ISPs and carriers with a complete solution to offer Internet communications services, including phone-to-phone voice and fax services.
"Our multi-service IP telephony platform based on the VocalTec Ensemble Architecture helps AT&T rapidly expand its IP telephony network in a standards-based environment," said Dr. Elon Ganor, chairman at VocalTec Communications. "AT&T adds value to our customers by enabling them to expand their footprint with a quality exchange service for terminating and originating traffic. We look forward to working with the AT&T Global Clearinghouse to grow their network with members using VocalTec's end-to-end solutions."
Launched in October 1998, the AT&T Global Clearinghouse provides a complete, centrally managed solution that allows Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to easily establish and operate Internet telephony and fax services to more than 220 countries worldwide. By joining the AT&T Global Clearinghouse, members are able to terminate calls globally, avoiding the time and expense of negotiating and managing numerous agreements with other ISPs. The AT&T Global Clearinghouse acts as a single point of contact, providing clearing and settlement services. The AT&T Global Clearinghouse supports multiple VoIP platforms and is ISO 9002 certified.
VocalTec's full system IP telephony solutions are based on the VocalTec Ensemble Architecture, an open, scalable multi-service platform enabling carriers to target multiple services at different markets using the same network infrastructure. Employing the most advanced industry standards and with support for third party billing and management services, the Ensemble Architecture solution includes the VocalTec Network Manager(TM) and the VocalTec Gatekeeper(TM) which serves as the brains of the network for centralized control over the routing and management of inter- and intra-domain IP telephony traffic. The Ensemble Architecture also incorporates the VocalTec Telephony Gateway(TM) series that converts voice calls between circuit and packet switched networks.
