I'm not saying that creativity should be suppressed. Don't imply that I say so; you oughtta know me better than that by now. But the teaching of the basics must never suffer! A more typical situation obtains when a teacher has 25 students or more, with widely varying levels of interest and comprehension. Never mind home schooling. How would you address this situation? <edit> At which level do you teach?
