Skeeter, actually your numbers are wrong also. The S&P is trading at around 30x this years numbers (not last!) and Dell is trading at around 58x this year's numbers.

But the S&P index is forecasted to grow at around 9% long term, while Dell is expected to grow at 35% long term. Adjusting for those companies in the S&P that are either not earning profits or are operating at break-even reduces the P/E to around 27. Any way you look at it, the price of growth is cheaper with Dell than it is with the broader market.
