I'll jump on, too, to guess that it refers to a company option plan. Options are part of remuneration (compensation) at a company. When you exercise the option in the company plan you are effectively receiving current compensation to the tune of the difference between the exercise price and the market value. If you or I buy options in the open market it is not a form of compensation to us; it is a cost. ...Tim
