You're assuming it's bigotry and not a conclusion on Blue's part (and on the parts of her attorney friends who have had the same experience) based on an unilluded perception of the behavior of a substantial number of a class of people in certain circumstances.

What if Blue were able to design a study to test the hypothesis that people from Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, under certain controlled circumstances (i won't design the test, but imagine a well designed one,) were significantly less truthful than a randomly selected group of people from... Wisconsin. Say. Or from France. Or from her other case files.

Well, it's unimaginable that she should think of testing her impression, isn't it?

It could be an entirely wrong impression, based on an unrepresentatively untruthful set of members of a cultural group; or it could be proven that that members of that cultural group, on average, place a vastly different value on veracity than do members of the control groups.

But it is not a study that can be done, and Blue has to feel like a bigot for describing an experience she and her colleagues are having repeatedly.

Everyone is just trying to be fair and good and to honor truth.

It's all very confusing.

Later I will make a politically incorrect confession.
