Maybe she's SCHITZO???. everything runs in three's right??? I was sitting in Burger King this morning, and I saw the second schizophrenic person I had ever seen. (I think that is the psychological term) And the one I ran into before that was only a couple weeks ago, so I started thinking. The first incident was in Hardees (maybe schitzos like fast food, or at least I do) but he was a blind man. I thought he was just mumbling to himself at first, however he ordered his food, and when he was done, he turned slightly, and said, "but anyways..." and continued on with his conversation. The incident today, a man was definitely talking to someone I couldn't see. But it was different this time. The first time, the blind man just seemed to be having a normal conversation with a good friend. Well, normal except for the fact that I couldn't see or hear his friend. The man today, seemed somewhat frustrated as if he was having a debate, and was trying to get his counter-part to understand what he was trying to say. He would also stop and say things to other customers occasionally, and at one point, I heard him say, "Do they want to hurt the poor crazy guy?". Now my point in this isn't just to tell you about a couple of strange people I've met downtown, it's just that I started thinking. What if some of the people labeled mentally ill actually weren't. What if some of them really are talking to someone? I know that sounds kind of crazy in itself, but think about it. In all the movies where someone really does have an invisible friend, everyone thinks they are nuts. Several types of people with mental illness are known for having giant IQ's. So isn't possible that some of them could have learned to see things the rest of us can't? I'm not saying it's likely, or that everyone who is mentally ill is this way, I'm just saying it's possible. Who knows, they could even be talking to angels (I kind of doubt this, but that is due to my religious beliefs). The guy at Burger King, at one point, said something like, "I reminded God the other day, that the pain & suffering he causes us is unrealistic if he loves us so much & we are his beautiful special children..." . That part kind of freaked me out. But you know, it was interesting at the same time. Well, let me know what you think, if you want, if you think there is a chance in hell this could happen, or should be locked up with the Dr. Spam? |
