John, thank you very much for your cc notes. I listened to the cc as well (also w many interruptions), and came away with much the same data.....and overall very positive impression.
The only clarification I might make is that the T1/E1 product was down to 54% of total sales from 58% in Q4, and a whopping 68% in Q1 '98.
The 31% of revenue from "Flex" and "Plus" was up 15% sequentially (don't have the yoy) and was highlighted to point to the strength of the move to systems solutions, higher margins, etc.
IMO, the undertone is that mngt. is quite confident about deployment of Avidia, and HDSL2 w majors and independents alike. It was clear that the business/earnings model only takes into account sales to many identified smaller CLEC's, independents, and IXC's (I'm with you, what is this one?), but did not include a component for a win at a major independent ala Sprint or an RBOC which would blow the numbers out (my words). It's not a question of if this will occur, it's a question of how soon and with whom.
I think today's action is suggesting that this may be in hand.
