Gabriel,

Here is a copy of my take on INTC.

Message 8901311

I think along with Gene Picoli, that INTC's results dispel any notion that this quarter was any worse that last years seasonal downturn.

The effect of boxmaker inventory overhang on INTC this year, I think will be limited to IBM and CPQ. This will be reflected in lower profits as they essentially sell off inventory being made rapidly obsolete by INTC's new PIII, Mobile PII and Celeron products.

The effect on INTC will be minimal as CPQ and IBM must buy INTC's new products anyway or be completely out of the game for several quarters. Hence, both these companies get to enjoy greatly reduced margins for the next couple of quarters.

Meanwhile, DELL , GTW and HWP are in a fine position to focus on the leading edge of INTC new product offerings.

I am thinking that we are going to see some fine results when DELL reports. This is almost a repeat of what happened last year.

Meanwhile, Earl Mason and Ekhard Pfeiffer have blown their credibility with all of wall street and many others as well. CPQ should show an internal inventory buildup as well as a receivables buildup when they report next week. They are on their way to cash flow hell.

Regards,

Jim Kelley
