John : As I understand it, Y2K is not a problem on PCs as it effects hardware . Reason, from DOS 3.1 on, the date can be set manually or by means of simple programming. Problems are expected only where old software has been used, where the date uses two digits, and where time subtraction is required eg in determining interest payments or product ageing.

A local, computer engineer told me that Y2K was one of the biggest rip-offs this century. Already many have made untold fortunes from protecting against problems which were never going to occur!
