My understanding from the cable provider in my area is that they would require me to use their browser (a la AOL) and that I would be subjected to their push technology. Yes, I would also have a connection to the Internet where I could get anything else I wanted, but I don't want to put up with the other crap. I much prefer working through a private ISP that has some competition and doesn't try to pull the Big Brother knows best act. ADSL is not quite there yet either but at least the Baby Bell in my area is talking about licensing it through multiple ISP's, which is a much better solution, in my opinion.

Regards,
G.P.
