Driven by customer demand, Ampex Data Systems optimized its DST(R) automated cartridge libraries for Hewlett-Packard's industry-leading MPEG-based MediaStream(TM) video servers to provide a complete video archive solution. The new rigorously tested video server archives are available now.
Broadcasters projecting the need or making the transition to video server-based playback must consider the archive requirements for near-line storage of a facility's interstitial as well as short and long format programming. Ampex and Hewlett-Packard integrated products to create a state-of-the-art video server archive environment. Ampex designed a unique device driver that provides an interface link to the HP MediaStream video server.
Ampex DST automated cartridge libraries are high-performance, reliable digital archives with unlimited expansion capabilities to accommodate a facility's growing video storage requirements. The DST library reduces the overall time required to archive and restore program elements to a network of Hewlett-Packard MediaStream video servers.
