Hey tech gurus, what's going to prevent someone from using
an mpeg encoder/cable modem to beam their favorite movies to their friends over the internet?

I quess the heart of my question goes to the fact that
they have encrypted the movies to be played on t.v. sets
and not to be swallowed by your p.c.; but once the encoder
technology becomes cheap; what will prevent people from
taking the t.v. signal and preparing for launch on the internet?
