Actfit.com To Host Ms. Rio Competition May 1st
TORONTO, ONTARIO--Actfit.com, the interactive health and fitness website, will
host the first annual Ms. Rio Competition at the Rio Suite Hotel & Casino in Las
Vegas on Saturday, May 1, 1999, and will broadcast it online on Wednesday, May
12.
Richard Hue, CEO of LaserMedia Inc., announced today that LaserMedia and the Rio
Suite Hotel & Casino, a division of Harrah's Entertainment Inc., one of the
world's largest gaming companies, have agreed to co-operate in the production of
this exciting event.
The Ms. Rio Competition will bring together 100 of America's most accomplished
female fitness champions in a 3-day event with a top prize of $10,000. A select
group of the Rio Suite's clientele, as well as sports and entertainment
celebrities, will judge the competition, which has attracted major sponsors such
as Banana Boat and others yet to be announced.
In addition, actfit.com spokesperson Ms. Fitness America, Sherry Goggin, will be
Master of Ceremonies at the competition. Ms. Goggin is an accomplished fitness
writer, personal trainer and television personality, and is America's best-known
female fitness champion.
"We're pleased to have the internet's premier interactive health and fitness
site on board with us in this project," said Mr. Mark Gore, Vice President of
Corporate Player Development for the Rio Suite Hotel & Casino. "Their
technological expertise and knowledge of the fitness community will help us
bring Ms. Rio to an audience we would not have been able to reach."

recorded over 1.1 million page impressions for the month of March, a remarkable
accomplishment in this short period of time.
The Ms. Rio broadcast will be the second in actfit.com's series of online
events. The first, a live workout session with Ms. Fitness America Sherry Goggin
and nutritional expert Frank Giardina, will be broadcast Tuesday, April 20, 1999
at 8PM Eastern Time.
