Motorola completes Japan CDMA system

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.—Motorola Inc. announced it finished building
a nationwide Code Division Multiple Access system in Japan.

Japan's DDI Corp. and IDO Corp. now cover 95 percent of Japan with
Motorola's cdmaOne network. Last July, three DDI networks were
commercialized, offering the first commercial cdmaOne service to people in
the cities of Osaka, Kobe, Kyote, Fukuoka and Naha, plus more than 600
other communities, said Motorola.

Last month, the carriers launched service in more areas, including Shikoku,
Hokuriku and Chugoku regions.
