Help I lost my job and started trading full time in MAY, and collected unemployment for 6 months. Do I qualify for trader status. I need to know what percentage of my profits on trades do I use to calculate what I owe the IRS. I can deduct up to 3000 in losses from My profits correct. I have to file an extension and need to figure out my estimated taxes that I owe the IRS. How accurate does my estimate have to be on the 4868 form. I was in the 28% tax bracket when I stopped working. If You sell a stock the same day You buy it, do You have to pay a higher percentage in taxes. I am in dire need of any help that I can get here. How do I deduct my commission costs from my trades. Thanks in advance, can't believe I waited until now to ask for help. I just heard on TV Today that I have to estimate my taxes on the 4868 form. Good luck to all here.
