This was from a recent post of mine - I don't have the URL at hand, but you should be able find the entire press release by searching under Kodak on one of the news services. You can also go to Kodak's home page for lots more info in this area. I believe that all the other major imaging companies have similar works in progress.

<<2) Kodak has announced a new Internet service that will let folks see photos they have taken, order reprints, and
send e-mail pictures. It will available later this year nationwide. It will cost about $5 to have a roll of film
scanned (didn't say if a roll was 12, 24, or 36 exposures). With that you'll get a password to control who can
view/download (save) them.>>
