One external Jaz drive can be shared by at least 5 people, because they are used rather sparingly, usually at end of the week, or every other week. We use both Jaz and CDRW for a group of 15 folks. Let's see the math: 1 Jaz2 + 1 CDRW + 15 disks = $ 2,000, instead of spending $8,500 to $16,000 if each person gets one. Use the $6,000 to $14,000 for several new 400 Mhz 8 Gig desktop PC's and two new notebooks, making many folks very happy. The ones with the oldest pc's get the new ones. It is amazing how far the computer budget can go these days. I remember those days when a 4 meg ram chip cost $300. Just a bubba's practical suggestion.
