Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) 14 3/4 -1/4: chip maker reports a Q1 loss of $0.81 a share ( or loss of $0.88 including charges), eleven cents wider than the $0.70 a share loss expected by analysts.

AMD CEO says "best thing that can be said about the first quarter is that it's over."

Without a good/honest tracking record from this infamous CEO, no one is sure the worst is over for this struggling microprocessor company.

Analysts believe some time within three months AMD will warn again, because its Q2 "loss" is likely much wider than the current estimate of $ -0.15. "(the loss for Q2 is) more likely in the range of $ -0.40 to $ -0.50 if I have to give you a number", said one analyst.
