Thanx, Chuzz...believe I did understand all that previously but can't hurt to hear it elucidated clearly again. Also, believe that Ed's view is that economy is basically bullish the entire century, with bear markets as pullbacks in upward incline. Thus he repositions puts when he's "upside down" and waits out bear "corrections" as he sees them. That's a perspective that sits well with me, but there is room, certainly, for other "valid" perspectives...it's a bit personal, in the end.

By the way, always meant to ask what is TTFN?
