Regarding ACTV...

They hold key relationships.
That's their strength.

Microsoft is successful because their marketing machine is enormous.

ACTV can acquire greater marketing capabilities through Liberty
Media and Fox.

Finally, please consider they already won the cable industry.
Indeed, Fox has a controlling stake in four of the 5 major cable
operators (for Sports at least), and Fox will use ACTV's technology.

So, in that field, ACTV does not compete with MSFT or RNWK.

Now, note that ACTV could compete with MSFT or RNWK if they wanted.
8 of their patents are applicable to streaming media. With the
support provided by Liberty, TCI, AT&T (including ATHM), and their
recent association with TUNE, they could become a major competitor
in no time.

Am I missing something?
