IMO it's all just part of the Net mania.

Just like Banks, mine included) have "24 hr online" servicing. I can get an update on my accounts anytime I want. Can even print out statements etc. It is an actual customer service.

Some Mortgage Companies are attempting to do the same. Only problem with the mortgage companies is all they are really looking for is leads. They give you no information, no rates, no nothing. You fill out a form and get a call from a salesperson asking even more questions. Then you find out that their rates stink. It's a real waste of time.
