Hook protectors keep you from hanging up that $4.50 plug, and no better sleep than in the sun on the casting deck. Waves, breeze, no phone. Really peaceful. Gangs, ok. Had a crippled friend who built a house in the country. Gang bangers started thinking they owned the place, nice pond and all. They threatened him and his daughter. I caught wind about their next visit. I rolled in doing about 75 in my Jeep and skidded to a halt. Told them to leave the pond and never waited for the smartassed remarks. Started pumping lead into the water close enough they could feel the shock. I kept reloading and firing until they were out of sight. The daughter was considered sacred around school.
