Mary, I feel the same way about Compaq. Just bought a Dell today. Also, in my case, their prices were approx. 15% less than HP and CompUSA, and 3-5% less than Gateway.
Re: Scumbria.. I like his contributions quite a bit because they're witty/smart, knowledgable, contrarian, and well informed...
If there's something wrong with Intel, Scumbria will not only know right away, but share it with all of us. Probably the hard part, is figuring out when he's joking (i.e. making an accurate detail into a generalization) and when he's serious, which is the challenge, but so far, I've been able to figure this out...although, at first, he had me going for a bit, which keeps me on my toes :)
