Re: Linux

Frank, AG, Thread:
First of all, I would have to admit that Linux has (in the past) stretched my patience. However, I find it very fulfilling when things work right, and this time around my Red Hat install went pretty painlessly. There are tons of programs available. For example, I have a modem redialer that redials every time I get disconnected, I have software that provides my machine with a powerful firewall to keep intruders and crackers out, I have Netscape 4.51 for internet and email (just as good as w/ Windoze, only more stable), I have an office Suite (Applixware) that is MS Office compatible (Powerpoint, Word, Database, Excel, the whole works). And, most importantly, I have an awesome interface (for a screenshot of what it _used_ to look at before I got themes, go to calpoly.edu ) that is extremely stable (my friend had his server @ UCLA up for over 130 days straight. The best I get with Windows is 130 hours straight, max). So don't underestimate it yet! Anyway, enough ramblings....
