I can't understand why the US Robotics share holders on this thread are happy with the merger. I mean you got a 10 or 15 point pop in a day but so what? US Robotics is obviously a stronger company than 3com with a brighter future.

I think that 3COM know's they're going to lose more high end market share to Cisco and a lot of low end to Intel, so while their company and stock still has value, they bought US Robotics. Trying to give themselves value in the future when their other divisions will be failing.

But if you're a US Robotics share holder, why would this make you happy? You're stock could have been well over 100 in the summer, now?
