Coz,

So I visited the Toronto clinic yesterday and my eyes are still 20/20 after 2.5 months. So the results are great!!!

Spoke with one of the tech's that does the pre-exam and got some details.

They can do 20 surgery's a day four days a week plus some on the fifth day depending on the surgeon's regular hospital schedule. I would say that they are running pretty much at full capacity.

They have done over 4000 procedures since opening in September.

They can book 15 pre-exams a day and see about 12 new people a day. From this about 1 patient will decide the procedure is not from them and 1 patient will be rejected as a non-candidate by the surgeon.

Approximately 50% of the patients are from the US.

Talked with one guy who was from the US waiting for his surgery and he told me at the Dodge Suite Hotel across the street, everyday he would see 5-6 new people wearing the protective eyeshields.

They are opening a new clinic in Windsor, so you could expect alot of US business. They are already booked into June. This clinic may take some patients from the Toronto clinic.

The clinic in Montreal is doing great, so is Calgary. Halifiax is starting to pick up more but Ottawa is a bit slow. Vancouver is as busy as ever.

Low price competition is starting with a group called Ikon (sp?).

The tech said alot of the patient have been asking if the company is public so I can only suspect as word spreads people will be interested in picking up stock.

If the run up in TLC is any indication...this cold be a winner. I guess the question is can they move to the US and have the same low rate...(US malpractice insurance is expensive!!!) or do they stay hear and target border cities, use the low CAN$ and less chance for lawsuits.

So there is my 2 cents and more.

Cheers,

David
