Some more thoughts.. The innate superiority of IS-95 over GSM is something consumers are having a hard time to notice. I don't know if this remark is meant to be sarcastic or not but I would suggest to you that there must be something about CDMA which is superior to GSM/TDMA judging from the consensus to use it as the core of the new standard.I suspect that as data occupies an increasing piece of the spectrum the "inherent advantages" will start to show up. 1XRTT, this years upgrade is supposed to DOUBLE capacity without grave expenditures on the part of the IS95 carriers.We're seeing more and more articles where it's stated matter of factly that CDMA is a superior system. Is this just vendor/American hype or what? Consumers are not making this choice, carriers are. It's certain other infrastructure equipment providers that are exposing themselves to third world risks. Not that Wall Street cares right now Yes, what's happened to the rational mktplace? I will certainly be happy when we see less of this vendor financing. Hopefully the sale of infrastructure to Ericsson will diminish this. Looks like Q gave the division away so we'll take a big charge on that..ugh.. Perhaps future royalties and an expanded mktplace will make up for it, I don't know, but I assume that's what Dr J is counting on. I still don't understand why you continue to make derisory statements about Q mgmnt such as " I wouldn't trust a thing either of these companies say" referring to Q and ERICY. I've followed this company for quite a while and have never known them to pass on falsehoods. And WHERE is that Nokia dual band CDMA phone which you declared in no uncertain terms we would see in the stores by now? My apologies to those of you wondering why all of this is taking place over here on the Nokia thread but Tero has stopped paying visits. And besides, nothing else seems to go on over here anyway, not that Nokia investors of which I am one are suffering for it... DMG
