A fellow investor defines rumors like these as SWAG (Sientific Wild Ass Guess). People, not everyone will merge as the red flag with the title "Networking Companies Unite!" is thrown on the streets. Some will be run over and driven out of the market since there is plenty of overlapping. I believe SHVA might be one of those. As for CSCC, they are behind in ATM and if I am a big networking Co. I would rather unite with FORE to add very focussed and concentrated ATM operation or even with Newbridge. The biggest CSCC asset is its good relationship with PTT. CSCC connects LAN to WAN but, so does ASND. I am not convinced that the merger of COMS and USRX is a good thing for either. All at all, it might be better for USRX that COMS. Lets not forget that the technology movement forward can't wait and if a Co. swallows another Co. it will spend time and resources trying to digest the "food", while the competition marches forward. I am not sure that CSCC is a buy even at this level. Apparently CSCC CEO agrees with me. GP
