Dan,

Its fun to exchange notes with other (former?) day traders on this site. It is clear that you already have a good grasp of the trading concepts...in fact I would say that you are ahead of me on some points. One of my own difficulties is in trying to adjust my thinking from daytrading (where I barely know the stock symbol, much less it's fundamentals), to the very reasoned, deliberate (and profitable) approach outlined in Herm's WINs strategy. I love to trade, and I am hoping to find a middle ground between LEAPs (I can't even think about something that expires 2 years from now...and besides, we'll all be broke after Y2K anyhow), and the frantic pace of daytrading.

As to DATEK, I switched to them from Ameritrade, and it was like a whole different world. I found them to be extremely good by comparison, but then I used to put 4 of their servers up at once. For information services, I agree that the only worthwhile thing they have on their site is the streamer. Also, I never had to call them to test their customer support. They are from New Jersey though.....
