OK - the statistics are skewed. But not as much as you might think. If people imagine all I get is fawning fanmail they should check out some of the "die already, commie scum" stuff I get on daily basis. I'm planning to publish a selection of those in an inspirational booklet; "Chickensoup for the soul - not".

I try to make a point of responding to all of the e-mails that actually come from telecom employees - the Sprint people aren't exactly the biggest Nokia fans in the world to begin with after the AT&T-Nokia collaboration has tightened. In any case, much of the stuff mentions facts that can be checked - like the way Sprint has yanked Q-phone from its website and moved the spotlight on Startac.

I've been repeatedly pointed out how well Motorola has started to do with customers - that's why I changed my opinion on Motorola last December. Before the 40% run-up. I still think that Motorola's handset resurgence might not help it in the long run if the other business divisions keep underperforming in the usual way. But it's been a good short-term bet.

I don't see how any personal characterizations are relevant - if you knew how insulting it is to call a biochemist a chemist you'd appreciate how much I'm hurtin' inside.
