Wading into options with leaps can be a "safer" way (if anything is "safe"), as you go far out, thus avoiding immediate consequences of unexpected volatility. Edamo on DELL thread suggested Harrison Roth's LEAPS and that's where I began. A very understandable book. Thus when PAL sold CMGI 01 200's yesterday (puts) he was selling way out leaps, and at a very safe price (as you see, the stock corrected down alot from its 300+ high, but did not get dangerously near 200--and even if it had, the 01 leap gives so much time to repair--
