Jay, If there is not much float, it is hard to buy large amounts of shares wiothout driving the price up. It's not a concrete reason to split a stock, but many either split, offer a secondary, or allow insiders to sell so that institutions can pick it up. Companies like MSPG and ELNK needed cash badly to continue expansion--they did secondaries. PRGN was not high enough to split, yet institutions wanted in, so they had insiders sell stock to allow institutions to buy positions. This cramped the stock short term due to fears of insider selling, but smoother over quickly thereafter. Real will most likely do a split, because I don't think they fit either of these two stuations. All opinion. G
