I do not think Quidel makes money giving away the kit. They get free
exposure. 300 P&G salesmen visiting doctors, sounds good to me.
It is brilliant. The downside for us is that I believe many doctors
are partial owners of the test labs down the road so they would rather go there. The good thing for us is that HMOs are growing and they
would prefer to keep costs down. Quidel's products fit right in with
cost containment.
