Wogger- Thanks for posting the article. I enjoyed reading it. It was very favorable to @Home and broadband. I am sure that AOL is very concerned. I do feel that AOL will come out of this just fine. They have done well, and will continue to do so. I should own AOL as well as ATHM.

I posted yesterday that I received a letter from TCI@Home. The letter stated that they must first upgrade the cable plant that serves my neighborhood for two-way communication. They told me there was a very strict quality control standard. Once the plant is certified, they will begin beta testing of the software and service. When they are satisfied, they will add subscribers. The letter read "unavailable" in bold lettering at the top. After reading the this, I figured I was six months to a year before I would see any service.

One day later, I get the infamous card in the mail. The card says, "Be the first in your neighborhood to join the cable Internet revolution." COMING SOON! They are TOYING with me! I know damn well I won't see service in '99. I am stuck with this AOL until 2000 for sure! My house/addition will not be an easy area to install. I am over the river and through the woods. They won't hassle for the few houses in my association. I can see it now! They will have ATHM service ALL AROUND ME! I will be an island! I am going to have to move!
