My observation is that many of "your stocks" are...like "lite ice cream" - or...in the world of materials science...aerogel. You see, aerogels are essentially solid substances that are cohesive enough to maintain structure, and their density is quite minor, so they can float if you blow on them. I have yet to see any bridges built from them, though. You see, when the brief wind dies down, they drift, helpless, wandering through a cold, entropic universe. So my dear Bar Mitzvah boy, I also wonder if there are any talmudic implications of creating such a brief wind that may alight such a structure, while knowing that such a journey is no doubt brief? However much fun and harmless your hobby may be to you, there are parents who might not have as much money as your parents - or you for that matter...who may not be aware that "your toy of the moment" consists of an aerogel, belly-button lint, and men smoking cigars in a dimly lit room in the basement of a restaurant. Such hard working people may have children to support - you go to a private school - not everyone is so privaleged. So if these parents invest in belly-button lint aerogel, Incorporated with money that they needed for their kids education, that does not bother you? On these chat rooms, everyone says their opinion, and on many stocks, I have said mine - sometimes I am right and sometimes totally wrong. But each time, when I say an opinion, I am basing that on the information I have. If I think XYZ that is $15 a share is worth $5, I say it. If ABC is $5 and I think is worth $15, I say it. But if ABC is $5 and after something called due diligence I think it is worth $2, I don't say it is worth $10. I just think you need to look at the ethical aspect of what you are doing. Consult your teachers. I am serious. |
