If E*Trade announces a split it won't be until they release the numbers for the quarter, which if I'm correct, is 4/20/99. The whisper number I'm seeing is a -.14 .vs. est -.16. If they do what Ameritrade did then we can expect to get the wind back into the sails. Goldman is just a rumor and only that... one article I've seen that didn't have much behind it. Long on the entire OnLine Trading train. mike
