On Monday Brett1980 breaks the big news: "I have heard that an ABFG representative will be at the White House this Wednesday, April 14. My understanding is that they are going to meet with Clinton and Gore." (http://www.ragingbull.com/mboard/boards.pl?read=1313+board=ABFG) On Tuesday he confirms that his source is Kelly Kellner, Director of IR for ABFG. We also learn that the representative is director Gerald Sklar: "Kelly also told me that Sklar from ABFG would be at the White House tomorrow night for an event at 8pm and would be doing something with Clinton and Gore." Daniel Miller, breaks the news in his newsletter that the speech will be internet related: "One of ABFG's officials will be making a speech at the white house Wen. Hopefully hear something about that either on TV, Thur. or Fri. Part of the Al Gore Internet thing." On SI he documents that his source is Kellner and cuts and pastes an e-mail from him: "Gerry will be in Wash. tomorrow for the White House shindig, then onto Israel with Todd Violett." Also on Tuesday, Dan Glover tries the "they can't be that stupid" argument: "They are proving themselves everyday. Tomorrow a speech at the White house. That's a pretty good scam. I guess they'll make up a replica of the White house, hire lots of actors, many who just happen to resemble senators, assemblymen ect, and oh yes, the Vice President. They are really taking this scam thing seriously aren't they?" (#reply-8900603)
On Wednesday Kowboy tells us the speech will actually be mining related, and, even better, Gore won't just be there, he'll be endorsing ABFG!: "ABFG is expecting an endorsement from Al Gore after tonight's dinner and conference. This is due to the fact that all other mining companies have been kicked out of Madagascar except ABFG and they have now been granted ALL rights to mining within the country." (#reply-8922432) When asked about the mining connection he later clarifies his statement saying "Just for the record....The dinner at the White House....was just that....a dinner. I'm sure they plan to discuss a wide range of subjects including the "Internet" and "Mining" and maybe even how their day went." (#reply-8924398) Not content with his wording, he writes: "I was told by Kelly that ABFG had been invited for dinner at the White House. I was told that sometime after the dinner that ABFG was expecting an endorsement from Al Gore due to their achievements in Madagascar that I have already outlined for you. The "Dinner" and the "Endorsement" may or may not be about "Mining" or the Internet"...who knows. They are two separate items that just seem to be happening at the same time. Perhaps the endorsement was already decided on and now because they are in Washington for dinner at the White House, Al Gore has decided to give them the endorsement tonight. I don't know!" (#reply-8925426) He then reiterated the Gore connection: "I came away with my discussion with Kelly with the impression that Gore would be there...what would be MOST important was whether ABFG was, in fact, even in the White House. That's what I want to know. If they were - GREAT. If they were not and in fact, were NEVER invited, than that tells me that ABFG is nothin' more than a fraud." (#reply-8925970)
Around the same time, Miller admits that he, too, isn't sure what the speech is about, that he just assumed it was going to be internet related because of Gore: "No he didn't. I just supposed considering Gore is doing that big internet thing." (reply-8923339) A little while later he confirms he heard the same thing as Brett1980 concerning Gore/Clinton/Sklar involvement: "I was informed that they recieved a letter from Gore/Bill to make a speech at the white house today. I called the office at about 4 and the secretary said Kelly was setting up for the internet broadcast and Sklar was in Washington. Todd went with him I believe." (#reply-8923713)
This brings us to Thursday. Knewcomer tells us ABFG wasn't in DC for a speech or dinner, they were there to make an acquisition! "Guys, I spoke to IR about 10 minutes ago and got the scoop. The aqcuisition team went to Washington DC to really look at 2 major companies to acquire. It kind of slipped out of his mouth. They are heading to Israel today to look at another possible aqcuistion and then on to Bankok tomorrow." (http://www.ragingbull.com/mboard/boards.pl?read=2447+board=ABFG)
Later in the day Keith1986 reports: "I just talked to KELLY..... He said that there was a meeting at the White House and their guy is coming back tonight, but he hasn't called American Benefits Group's home office with any news. Kelly also said that there might be a PR about the trip, but might not depending upon the news that comes back. Also, the PR might be release in a few days b/c this could be quite substantial news and they might need to finalize things with their lawyer." (http://www.ragingbull.com/mboard/boards.pl?read=2551+board=ABFG) Wait a second, the team is going home now? Didn't Knewcomer just tell us they were supposed to be going to Israel?
So, we've got Bill and Al, then only Al, then an endorsement from Al, then maybe not; then dinner and a speech, then dinner or a speech, then just a meeting; then the topic is internet, then mining, then both or maybe not; then the team is going to Israel or maybe back home. Looks like IR can't keep their story straight. Of course considering there was no dinner or speech scheduled last night at the White House this will be very hard to do ;^). But I'm sure they'll think of something entertaining!
