If you sell will it not cost you more in commissions than you can get for the stock?

Write it off. Let the IRS prove that it has value. If they can prove that it does, then ask them to take your shares in lieu of tax payments.

Ooops, hope you aren't on the east coast where it is now too late to make your tax filing deadline.
