Al Cano & Thread: Spent well into the early hours analyzing this "restructuring"....not so sure it will move the stock...appears to be "window dressing". Laying off 150 personnel no big deal considering the size of the organization...surely won't add 10million in salary savings. WS looking for more of a "serious restructuring" of "Corporate Mgmt"....this isn't the case...expect a "wait and see" position by WS before $$$ are committed. If this announcement would have been backed up with repurchasing of stock...then we would see some activity. I hope I am incorrect...but it does not appear very likely that WS is going to take the "bait"....not enough bait to attract the "big fish". Question is: how can 3com mgmt claim to be more "aggressive" especially given the "snails pace" of late...just does not fit. Analog modems & NIC sales are not doing that well. Cannot see how this "restructuring" will change their "fixed costs" significantly, nor can I see how this will increase their marginal revenue. All in all....I would like to see some "figures" or hard data from mgmt how this "restructuring" will improve profits ! I hope I am "dead wrong" and stock pops upward(10%+) and volumn increases significantly. It makes more sense to purchase ones' stock at a lower price then at a higher price...then to follow up with a "restructuring" announcement! Sorry gang...this is "window dressing"!

HK
