Sony, IBM To Provide Video Archive

NEW YORK (AP) - Sony Corp. (NYSE:SNE - news) and IBM are teaming up to provide video
archive services for the broadcast industry. CNN will be the first customer, spending about $20
million to store more than 100,000 hours of video on compressed tapes.

CNN, a unit of media giant Time Warner Inc. (NYSE:TWX - news), will be able to resell the news
footage more easily and make it available over the Internet.

Sony and IBM will market the system to broadcast and production companies around the world. As
part of the service, which was announced Wednesday, the companies will offer consulting and
