jfhh, You must have had a stop LIMIT if it didn't execute - a stop would have gone in as a market order and been done. You may want to verify what type of stop you had. You may be out and didn't get confirmation.

That is why I NEVER put in a good until cancelled STOP. Gap downs can screw you - especially on NYSE stocks where you can't see pre-market activity. Would have knocked me out of EMC yesterday if I kept my 125 stop in overnight.

kha vu - discussion on stops seems to have begun - did you have any specifics you wanted to throw out on the floor?
