Richard, thanks for link. It sounds as though Ibm/Sony have the backing of the Recording industry. But Microsoft went off and did it's own thing with Audio 4. The idea behind Sony/IBM and Microsoft is to kill MP3 or at least relegate it to a free format for download with upstarts and amateurs. As a rule though any mp3 format up on the web for download of say Michael Jackson will be suspect of piracy. Audio 4 will be another alternative to Sony/IBM. Because DIMD is under the gun from the RIAA, I see them(DIMD) oddly enough teaming with MSFT and making a Rio that will play Audio 4. It's hard to believe that Microsoft would have the audacity to take on SONY, BMG, Time Warner music, Universal etc..This is all my humble opinion but correct me if I'm wrong.
