The only place I've heard about this AOL/Sun rumor is here. One person said that CNBC mentioned AOL coming out with a "set top" to get to the internet without going through a PC (sounds like existing WebTV to me, but I'm relatively ignorant here).

IF the jump is due to an AOL/Sun rumor, then expect the stock to fall flat when the rumor is shown to be false. (I'll go on record saying I don't think AOL and IATV will ever sign any deal. If I'm wrong, oh well, I'm long IATV and I'll be rich, so who will complain).

I'm betting the move today is in anticipation of the conf call on Monday. I'm hoping that the conf call details the Liberty deal, gives all the reasons why Liberty bought rights to purchase 25% of the company, then gives the roll-out date for the first real IATV broadcast and discusses pricing to consumers, exactly how many customers have boxes containing the IATV software, etc. That would be a wonderful announcement and one I have been yelling about for weeks.
