SUNGOLD GAMING INC. REQUESTS EXTENSION ON
TRADING HALT FROM THE VANCOUVER STOCK EXCHANGE

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMB

Hans R. Banziger, the President of Sungold Gaming Inc. (the
"Company") wishes to announce that the Company requested a trading halt on Wednesday, February 25, 1997, when the Company was advised by Union Securities Ltd. ("Union") that Union is unable to meet the, deadline of February 28, 1997, for the filing of a Reporting
Letter as requested by the Vancouver Stock Exchange, (the
"Exchange") and consequently the Company is requesting an
extension from the Exchange to engage a new Sponsor and to file the Reporting Letter which the Exchange requires.

The Company confirms that it will be meeting its obligation to
submit the Filing Statement required by the Exchange by February 28, 1997.

The Company has filed the three-for-one share split submission with the Exchange, as approved by the shareholders of the Company at its Annual General Meeting held on February 11, 1997.

Negotiations are continuing with North American and International gaming companies with respect to providing financing and management for the Company's gaming projects.
