Indianapolis Star April 15, 1999

LOW BRIGHTPOINT STOCK SNAPPED UP BY EXECS

Brightpoint Inc. officials wasted little time buying stock in the company after the price plummeted
March 11.

Securities records reveal that directors Steve Simon and Robert Wagner, President Mark
Howell and executive vice presidents Steve Fivel and Phillip Bounsall bought a total of 68,100
shares within eight days of the stock plunge.
