I think your analysis is pretty much correct, until people start behaving in an irrational manner. A hidden assumption is that all people/countries all have have very similar economic goals.

We seem to have very different opinions on how frequently people behave irrationaly. I think people are basicly irrational creatures who are forced to be rational most of the time. But that's O.K. We both seem to be rational people who can respect each other's opinion. :-).

Now back to the subject of this thread. How much will the anticipated rate hike cool off this raging bull market?

May all our investing be profitable.
